It's Halloween! It should stay relatively dry for the little kiddos scamming for candy tonight....

Speaking of kids and candy...here are two of the cutest ones out there!

she is SO freakin' cute!  Of course, Alex didn't want to have his picture taken, so most of them are of Skylar.

Fall Sucks.

Welcome to fall in western washington. Forcast: rain today, tomorrow, the next day and all next week along with all next month -- basically it's going to rain until June.  As most of you know, I HATE the rain, I actually melt (it's true).  Because of this poor Tim has to feed the majority of the time....why? BECAUSE I HATE THE RAIN -- did you miss that?   I really shouldn't have been born on this side of the state, I really dislike the rain..the wetness...the dampness...the drizzle...all of it. Today I got home early and thought I would go out and feed and brave the rain.  I brought my camera ....

This is what it looks like outside right now...millions of leaves...

leaves down the driveway....leaves and mud and dogs...

at lease the leaves are pretty for now -- in another few weeks, they'll just be the mud

the horses hate the rain too -- it means they have to wear their blankies and they really hate their blankies...

this is the pasture, we cleared it last month, it looks really nice, except for the leaves...and the mud

this is the pasture that I planted this summer....the grass looks great, other than the fact that it's covered in leaves...and mud....with puddles...

D I S N E Y L A N D ! ! ! !

Disneyland is a magical place....it really is.  I've never been on a trip, stood in line for over an hour and still had a smile on my face.  There were a TON of people there.  Apparently, California and Arizona schools were out on their "fall" break (not sure if they really understand "fall"...it was over 80 degrees every day we were there!!), so next time, we need to check the school schedules prior to booking our trip!  Even with all the people, it was great. It was nice to get away for a few days and see some sun.

I hope they never have to take anyone larger than Tim in to custody...they may have a problem!

Mainstreet U.S.A -- all decked out for halloween.  The decorations are amazing, they really pay attention to detail.  I have to say, Disneyland is one of the cleanist places I've ever visited, you very rarely see any garbage  around.

 
 We went here first thing. They have a Character Breakfast, Tim wanted to go because it was a buffet, I wanted to go to see the characters (and not have to wait in line to have our photo taken!)

Captain Hook...he freaked me out a little, came up behind me out of nowhere!

Hello Tigger, How are you today?

ch-ch-ch-chip and dale's rescue rangers... I love those guys!! Unfortunately, only Dale was able to be in the photo...not sure where Chip was.

I'm sure at this point you're wondering why all the characters have their photos with me...Tim was busy stuffing his face and he couldn't be bothered. (it was hard enough to get him to take the photos of me!!!! NEVER get inbetween Tim and his food)

I tried to get both of us in the photo....this is our first ride...now it's tradition, we HAVE to ride It's a Small World the first thing when we get into the park.

We love Toontown...we went there several times!

Tim went on the Califoria Screamin' coaster...obviously, I couln't hack it.

We also went to Medieval Times dinner, it's out by Knott's Berry Farm. This was my present to Tim for his birthday. it was AMAZING!!!

It was a horse show.  Right up our alley. This was the M.C -- he was freakin hilarious. 

This was our knight -- The Red Knight -- it was very cool...

there was flag ceremonies, horse competitions...fighting, jousting, lots of hard riding...

they put on a ground driving show with the lippizan stallions...truely amazing...

i don't even have words for this...

These were all the knights. We had great seats, front row...it was great, I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone going down to California...

Our Knight Won the battle...we can't wait to go back!!

We had fun....we got to hang out in the warm weather...it went by too fast and can't wait to go back...

even though we felt like this at the end of the day....

A Sunday Shooting

Sometimes I crack myself up! I love this title, it makes you think something really scarey happend, huh? Well, it didn't.  We had a lot to do today, we leave for Disneyland on Thursday and had to make sure the farm was ready for it's care-takers.  We had to move the pigs and goats.  This sounds like an easy/simple task...but when you have 8 goats and 4 pigs and 3 pens to move on a hillside...it can get a little tricky!  After everything was said and done and the piggies and goaties were snuggled into their new homes....Troy came over and we went up the mountain to waste some ammunition. It was a lot of fun, we haven't been shooting in a long time.  Everyone did pretty well (myself included).

we had a really good time, hundreds of rounds were shot, my shoulder is sore and we are all tired.

this was our veiw...it's really pretty where we go, all the fall leaves are starting to come out that makes it an even nicer drive!

we had fun. we can't wait to do it again, hopefully it will be before next summer!  

 
 
 

is it already October?

The months seem to be flying by.  It feels like it was July last week!  I have been a horrible blogger, though, only 2 people look at this site regularly, so it only affected them.   We've been busy here at the farm.  Winter is creeping in and we are having to prepare.  We moved the mini girls today and the goats and pigs are on the list for next sunday.  Disneyland is also fast approaching, another reason for the winter moving of animals (it makes it easier to feed, so the people taking care of them don't have to panic!) 

Another trip I have planned is to Kansas Missouri, to visit my friend, the Corndorklatron.  I'm pretty excited about it as I've never been that far east (and south) before.  More on that to come...

First off -- These are the spoils from my garden! It was time to start getting it winterized, so I had to dig everything up.  We also got lots of green beans, tomatos, sunflowers,  tons of corn, cucumbers and sooo many dahlia's.  Hopefully next year will be even better!

Next, the mini girls are gone. They both went to the same home, they will be 4h babies and have a ton of attention!  I was sad to see them go, but know they will have a happy life.

 And... Tim hates it when I get bored and get out my camera.  This was the 6th or 7th shot in a row of 12 or so that I took of him walking towards me...he gets a little annoyed by this...but I can't help it..it's him or the dogs, and they never sit still!

Tim forceing them to sit still works as well...but then we go back to the "being-totally-annoyed-when my- wife- makes- me- hold- the- dogs- and- i'm- in-the-photo"  attitude ... but he does it so well...

I'M BAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!!!

My computer decided to die...it took 10 days to revive it.  Now it's home and I'm back on the net!! New post to follow...I just need to get some photos taken today!! Sorry for the delay -- for the 2 people that look at this blog...

Additions 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 ...

For those of you who thought the farm couldn't get any crazier...I give you -- Little Mama and her kittens!  Little Mama came to the clinic by some good sams who had been feeding her.  They thought she was a "he"...but she wasn't and she was pregnant! On top of it, she when we tested her, she came back faintly positive for Feline Leukemia ... now ... some would say this is a death sentance, BUT she may be able to overcome this and she needs to be re-tested in a few weeks.  Meanwhile...she had 4 babies on the 3rd.  They sure are cute!! We've never had kittens before, so this is a new one for Tim and I.  Little Mama is doing all the work and the babies are getting bigger everyday.  I just keep the food in front of her and change blankies as needed!

here are her babies!! She had 2 blacks, 1 dark torti and 1 orange...the orange one sticks out but is the cutest!

and the twins .. there ARE 2 kittens here, but they were NOT being very cooperative!

he really does stick out...but there is the whole crew...

Poor, Poor Babies

So, it's that time of year.  The babies are 6 months old, it's time for them to be weaned...that makes it a sad time around the farm.  We separated the babies from their mamas yesterday, they whinnied and cried all night.  This morning, they are happy with some alfalfa, but still giving a sad little whinney every so often.  I hate weaning, I wish we could keep them for a while, but, life must go on, and babies need to find new homes.  The lucky thing, they are going to the same home, a wonderful family with 2 teenage girls.  They are going to be in 4H...and will most likely go on to win a lot of ribbons, since they are the cutest babies we've had so far.  I will miss them, it was a hard decision to sell them, but winter is looming and we don't need 2 more mouths to feed!

on the lighter side...my dahlia's are doing wonderful!!! and they are beautiful!!

I love this one too...i have 2 of these, I think it was an accident, but I really like them! (i guess you can tell i like the 2 tone effects!!)

 

these ones are really fun, they are little blooms, but there are a ton of them! and I accidently planted them in the perfect spot! The top corner of the garden is filled with these!

 

and here is my little garden...the sunflowers are HUGE!!!! I tore out the beans yesterday, afterall, as I previously mentioned...fall is looming...time to get the garden put up for winter! 

I'm going to try to get to Dahlia Jim's this week to take some photos of his dahlias...his are beyond AMAZING!! the color in his gardens is to die for! 

What happend to August???

It seems like this month flew by...no time for anything, and now it's coming to an end.  We have added a few new additions, Nellie, a 3 legged dog who came to the clinic with nowhere to go.  And, Little Mama, a PREGNANT kitty who is ready to pop any day.  It's been busy here at the farm!  My dahlia's are growing like crazy, I wish I had time to go take photos of them!  We are excited for Disneyland....and ready for a little vacation!  In the meantime, here are some photos to entertain you (mainly kd)

This is Nellie, she has a freakishly big head and very very tiny body --- Just Kidding! I just thought this was cute!

 

Nellie is very thin and missing a leg due to getting hit by a car in 2007, don't let her fool you though, she runs like the wind!! She is extremely attached to me at this point and is, as I type, laying on my feet.

 

this only begins to show you how thin she is -- but it won't take long at the farm for her to fatten up! We give a new meaning to "fat farm"!!!

 

speaking of 3 legged animals...this is Mr. Bump (or Misty, as I call him)

 

he likes to talk!  We have long conversations...he loves me

 

he also loves his cat toy, he falls out of it frequently.
