has anyone been missing the addition???

I'm sure the 3 people that look at this blog have been missing the addition updates.  I've been slacking on putting posts up about it.  I made myself take some updated photos today, some are from a few weeks ago. We are within days of the "move-in", possibly this weekend. We got our final inspection today...so technically, they could live there as of tonight. ... but without a main bathroom and countertops.  Tim (and Jesse) has done an awesome job on the addition, it still amazes me what my husband can do. 

 

This is the new front porch, this door will be the entry way for the entire house.  Left to the Pennington's and Right to the Toney's...

 

This is Lucy J. Piggins, she lives on the new front porch, she is the official "Pennington Porcein People Pointer-outer"

 

This is now the inside of the front room/kitchen.  The cabinets are in, the floor is done...and there is stuff everywhere!!!

This is the smoking room....I love the little bench Tim's mom picked up at a garage sale...I think it looks very antique-y...and Gunner is so cute on the bench!!

 

This is outside the smoking room, Tim built a very pretty porch and a ramp so his grandpa can get down it easily.

this is one of the plants that Tim's grandpa gave me for my birthday...it's very common on the east coast, but pretty rare around here.  I thought it was very cool...

 

The guys planted it and 2 others near the front of the house, along with a dogwood tree that his mother got me...it looks very pretty.

 

they even put a neat little border around them...now there is wire around all of them, since the peacocks decided to pick at all the flowers

AKC Family Dog Magazine Photo Contest

We get this magazine at the clinic, in the last issue, they advertised a photo contest.  The only rules are 1) it must be of an AKC recognized breed 2) you can only submit one photo in each catagory (color and black and white).  It goes on through the whole year, but I thought it would be fun to enter....who knows....maybe I'll win!! First prize is $750 -- so it'd be pretty cool if I won!!

These are the photos I'm concidering...

 

Cash and Visa in black and white.  I like this one because they both look so intent on whatever they are looking at -- very much the border collie breed!

 

Mooey in black and white -- I like this one because you only need to see a part of it to know what it is.  I'm not sure if the nose and top lip whiskers are sharp enough for what they want

 

Cash - for the color photo...he's just a good lookin' dog!

 

Mooey -- I L O V E this one, but 2 things I think they would see 1) the stick coming out of her head that i can't seem to be able to edit out 2) it looks a little too "posed" Cash's photo has a lot more "life" in it

Obviously, I have a million more photos I would love to send in, but I would like to send something that may actually have a chance at winning....So for the color one I'll be sending Cash -- unless my adoring fans have any advice!!

It's Father's Day...

I am lacking in the Mom department, but I think make up for it by leaps and bounds in the Dad department.  I am lucky enough to have had a great childhood, and have my Dad as one of my best friends.  He went out of his way to make our lives as easy as possible (though I can't say the same for us growing up!!), one of these days we will be able to repay him.  Thanks Dad...love you lots!! On the same note, one of these days, I'll have enough time to ride with him on a regular basis!!!

My Birthday

It was my birthday last week.  It was a long week, KM was out of town which turns up the "crazy" factor in the good ol' AHMV.  I was glad when the weekend rolled around.  We babysat the niece and nephew on saturday night, took them to Maple Valley Days (they have the BEST polish dogs!!) Skylar actually liked me this time.  She rode the ponies (even though I said I would NEVER pay for a pony ride, but she really wanted to do it) and had a good time.  Alex got a ton of sugar and bounced in the bounce house for a while.  We showed up a little late, so didn't stay for long. The kids had a great time and I think like their Auntie and Uncle Tim a little more.  Dad and Jeanmarie had us over for a dinner today...so we all got to hang out some more!  It was a nice day!!

Mooey

Mooey, Schmooey, Schmooey-poo, Schmaloopa, Schmaloopa-paloopa-gustee, Gustuveous, Mooey-Goo, Jessie, Jessie-Belle, any way you say it....it's still my Mooey.  She hurt her leg yesterday and freaked me out...all is well today, but I loose it with this dog!!

the BBQ of the century!!!

We had the first every Pennington Farms BBQ - it was to celebrate the addition (which is almost finished) and let everyone see the product of all of Tim's hard work.  We had ~65 people come, a lot of kids, who all had fun.  We had a lot of food...everyone left with full tummies.  The animals all had full bellies by the end of the day too. (the kids were feeding them whatever they could find) It was a lot of fun....

 

the minis were a hit...

 

the pony rides were a huge hit (Thanks Hannah!!!!!)

 

the Rhino rides were the biggest hit, for kids and adults!!!

 

Tim and Jesse were the grillmasters, Uncle Don was making sure it got done well!

 

Tim's Dad and Stepmom came up from Ocean Shore's, it was great to see them!

 

and the cutest niece in the world came...I think she likes her auntie a little more now (if I had only known the power of Otter Pops a few months ago!!!!)

 

everyone was having a good time just chit-chatting...

 

Dad and Jeanmarie were a H U G E help, they showed up at the knick of time and Jeanmarie was great in handeling everything outside while i was trying to keep my head straight!!!

 

then we got the waterballoons out.....Jesse got Tim pretty good on the first shot, it went downhill from there!

Poor Priscilla...Jesse zoned in on her too...

 

Art was loading the kids up...Johnathan got Tim a few good times!! I dont' think the kids' smiles could have been bigger...

 

here is PC - asking "why does it always happen to me??" - apparently sources say SHE STARTED IT - that's why you never mess with the boys, Jesse will fight to the death, he and Tim were soaked by the end of the day!

 

Josh even got the hose out -- to do a drive-by soaking!

 

Others stayed out of the water fight...Ronni had to say hi to her baby -- Prince Ronald

 

The girls had fun on Gypsy, she worked hard today!!

 

It was a "splashing" good time for all!!

Maybe we'll do it again next year!! This time I'll by 400 waterballoons, not only 240, then PC may stand a chance!

Motorcycles

Tim loves motorcycles, he loves to ride them as fast as possible in the worst places - just to see if he can do it.  I went with him and Scott last week to take some photos of them "doing their thing"....

A day with the Mariners....

It is the 10th anniversary of the Animal Hospital of Maple Valley....and we sure know how to party!  Dr. Mooers was kind enough to get us a SUITE at the Mariner's game at Safeco feild today, the weather was beautiful, the company was great and the food was awesome...it was a good day!  And, I think Dr. Mooers even enjoyed the "present" we all got her....

That's all I can say.  It's been busy, same old story - different day.  I have some great photos to show you...

the apple blossoms are out, they are very pretty, I also planted my garden yesterday.  I have a ton more to do, but it was a start!

 

the addition is almost done.  This is the main room with the primer on. Tomorrow is texture, then paint, then floors, then move-in day!

 

It's hard to shoot this whole room...it was getting dark...

 

My brother and his crew came up last week and did our "mini" driveway...they did a good job!

 

they even took up the whole road...not like it's hard to do in Carbonado...
